ICOH
The International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) is an international non-governmental professional society dedicated to promoting scientific progress, knowledge and the development of occupational health and safety.
Founded in 1906 in Milan as Permanent Commission on Occupational Health, Today it has more than 2,000 members from over 110 countries, being a world leader in occupational health. Recognized by the United Nations as an NGO, it collaborates closely with the ILO and the WHO.


SCOM
The Scientific Committee on Occupational Medicine (SCOM) of the ICOH is one of the oldest in the organization, with more than 120 members from nearly 45 countries.
Occupational Medicine is a medical specialty that addresses health risks in the workplace, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of work-related diseases. The understanding of Occupational Medicine is based on the (Worker, Work, Workplace). Currently, the President of SCOM is Dr. Gogillan Sevaratnam (Malaysia) and the Secretary is Dr. Ade Mutiara (Indonesia).
ICOH National Secretariat for Peru
ICOH has National Secretaries (NS) in countries on all continents in the world. NSs represent ICOH and its activities in the country and region where they have been appointed and promote cooperation and communication between ICOH members in their country and region. SNs also build and strengthen ties between their country and region with the Scientific Committees and Board of Directors of ICOH. In Peru, the current National Secretary is Dr. Norvil Mera Chu.

The Future and Opportunities for Occupational Medicine
The event is organized by the Peruvian National Secretariat of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) in collaboration with the Scientific Committee on Occupational Medicine (SCOM). The objective of this event is to promote the update on emerging occupational diseases, their impact on the population and prevention strategies, adopting a comprehensive approach that addresses medical, management and legal perspectives.
The event is aimed at occupational physicians and occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals from Peru, neighboring countries and other regions of the world. Since its announcement at the 34th ICOH Congress in Marrakech, Morocco, it has generated great international interest.
